Francesco Dracone praises SUPERSTARS SERIES after Jaguar debut
The Kyalami round of the 2009 SUPERSTARS SERIES, a first time for the championship on the South African raceway, hosted the debut of open-wheeler Francesco Dracone, at his maiden touring car start.
The young talent from Piemonte brought to debut the new Jaguar XF fielded by Ferlito Motors, scoring 12th on Race 2. Despite not getting into the top-10, Dracone is aware of the great potential of the British car.
"I''''m very satisfied - told Dracone - mainly for the extremely high-level organization of this championship. It was the first time for me at the venue, which is really varied, and with a couple of extremely technical corners. It''''s a good racetrack. The car performed well, and there''''s plenty room for improvement. I had to face a tough adaptation to a completely new concept compared to open-wheel cars".
Back to Italy, Ferlito Motors continues to develop its racing plans for the 2010 season, and further announcements might be coming soon...

L''''appuntamento di Kyalami dello scorso fine settimana, ultimo round della stagione 2009 valevole per la Serie Internazionale, ha anche salutato l''''esordio di Francesco Dracone, alla sua prima esperienza assoluta su una vettura a ruote coperte dopo alcuni anni di monoposto ad alto livello.
Il giovane pilota piemontese in Sudafrica ha portato al debutto la nuovissima Jaguar XF schierata dal team Ferlito Motors, con cui ha concluso 12. in Gara 2. Anche se alla fine non è riuscito ad inserirsi nella "top-ten", c''''è comunque da dire che era la prima volta che la berlina "racing" della Casa inglese metteva le ruote in pista nel campionato.
"Sono entusiasta. - ha commentato dopo la gara Dracone - Da rimarcare è sicuramente l''''organizzazione fantastica di questa categoria. Era anche la prima volta che correvo su questo circuito, che ho trovato molto variegato con un paio di punti particolarmente tecnici. In definitiva davvero una bella pista... La vettura si è inoltre comportata bene. Esistono sicuramente degli ottimi margini di miglioramento. Personalmente ho dovuto però adattarmi in fretta al cambio di "misura" rispetto alle Formula. Non posso che ritenermi in generale soddisfatto".
Intanto il team Ferlito Motors continua a lavorare per la prossima stagione, per la quale annuncerà prossimamente dei programmi più dettagliati.
